Numbered text repeater
Number every repetition, and wrap each one in your own prefix and suffix.
How automatic line numbering works
Enabling line numbering automatically prefixes each repetition with an incremental counter: “1. ”, “2. ”, “3. ” through your target count. This turns identical phrases into sequentially indexed lines suitable for checklists, documentation, and systematic test records.
Numbering is calculated in real time alongside any custom separators, preserving perfect numerical order across small lists of 5 items up to vast datasets of 100,000 lines.
Structured output using prefixes and suffixes
The prefix and suffix controls let you envelop each line in custom code or formatting syntax. For example, adding “<li>” as a prefix and “</li>” as a suffix instantly creates valid HTML unordered lists. Adding “- [ ] ” creates GitHub/Notion markdown task checkboxes.
In programming and data management, wrapping words in single or double quotes and adding a trailing comma transforms plain text into ready-to-use JSON array literals or SQL value sets.
Combining numbering with case conversion and reverse
You can alter the casing of your source text independently from the numbering. Switch to UPPERCASE for striking headline lists, lowercase for normalized technical identifiers, or Capitalize Words for formal title rosters.
Enabling the “Reverse output” option flips the final rendered block so that your numbered list displays in descending countdown order (e.g., from 10 down to 1), which is popular for social media countdowns and game leaderboards.
Common questions
Does numbering always start from 1?
Yes. Numbering begins at 1 and increments sequentially by 1 until the specified repeat count is reached.
Can I customize the numbering delimiter?
By default, numbering uses the universal “N. ” format. You can add extra brackets or labels around the entry using the custom prefix input.
Does the font styling apply to the numbers?
Numbers, prefixes, and suffixes remain in standard legible typography so indexes remain crisp and readable, while your core text receives the chosen font transformation.
Can I import numbered lists into project management tools?
Yes. Numbered lists paste cleanly into Trello, Jira, Asana, Notion, and Slack, automatically creating sequential items.
